AreYouAlive (“we”, “our”, “us”) respects your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
- Account information: When you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive a unique user identifier.
- Check-in data: Check-in timestamps and settings (e.g., check-in interval).
- Emergency contacts: Names and contact details you add (email and/or phone).
- Location (optional): If enabled, we may store your last check-in location and include it in emergency alerts.
- Push notification token: A device token (FCM/APNs) used to deliver notifications to your device.
- Diagnostics: Basic logs for reliability (e.g., delivery success/failure).
- Provide check-in reminders and status updates.
- Send emergency alerts to your configured contacts if you miss a check-in deadline.
- Send push notifications when alerts are dispatched (if enabled).
- Improve reliability and prevent abuse.
Data Sharing
We share data only as needed to provide the service:
- Firebase (Google): Authentication, database, and push notifications.
- Brevo: Sending emergency emails to your contacts (when enabled).
- Apple/Google Sign-In: Authentication.
We do not sell your personal information.
Data Retention
- We retain data as long as necessary to operate the service and comply with legal obligations.
- You can remove emergency contacts and app data by deleting the app and/or signing out.
Your Choices
- You can disable alerts in Settings.
- You can disable location sharing in Settings.
- You can disable notifications in iOS Settings.
Security
We use reasonable security measures to protect data. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
Children
AreYouAlive is not intended for children under 13.
